Content Editing — $30/hour
In editing terms, content editing, also called developmental editing, is the big-picture stuff. For fiction, this includes character arcs and motivations, plot structure, and pacing. For nonfiction, this would mean organization, flow, strength of argument, and pacing. Based on the type of manuscript you have (fiction or non-fiction), I will analyze your manuscript and make suggestions for how to improve your work.
Copy Editing — $25/hour
Copy editing focuses on the sentence level. I will edit grammar, punctuation, and word choice, in addition to fact-checking. I will also make note of pet words and phrases.
Proofreading — $15/hour
Proofreading is the last step a manuscript goes through. I will make a final pass through your manuscript, looking for any overt spelling or grammar errors. NOTE: If you hire me to proofread your manuscript, please understand that it must have been content and copy edited beforehand.
Value Package — $40/hour
This package combines content and copy editing. Save $15/hour with this bundle.
